| DuraCoat® Firearms Finishing |
|
We have several standard stock colors and camo pattern for you to choose from. We can also custom mix colors and create unique camo patterns to match your needs. DuraCoat can be applied to your accessories (except soft rubber products) to complete the desired look of your firearm.
DuraCoated is applied by the following process:
- Firearm is completely disassembled (not just field stripped) and all parts cleaned.
- All metal parts are sandblasted with aluminum oxide to removed old finish, minor defects, and imperfections. All wood parts will be stripped down to bare wood and sanded. This creates a good surface for the DuraCoat to bond to.
- For added durability and longevity of highly abused firearms, metal parts can be parkerized upon request (extra charge). This give the DuraCoat optimum griping power.
- After the prepping process all parts are cleaned and receive one to two coats of DuraCoat depending on color. High wear areas are given special attention.
- Once color or camo pattern has be applied, all parts receive a clearcoat to provide a desired sheen and added durability. Clearcoat comes in 3 sheens: matte, satin, gloss.
- Firearm is allowed to cure for four to five days before reassembly.
- Firearm is then reassembled, lubricated, and test fired to insure proper functioning.
